Check your app permissions
To record a video in StoryTagger you must permit it to use your device's camera.
The first time you enter the recording screen, you will be prompted to allow access to your camera.
If you denied access you will need to change the permissions settings for StoryTagger in your device settings.
Troubleshooting USB camera on Windows
Check Windows camera settings
Go to Start > Settings > Privacy > Camera, and make sure:
Allow apps to access your camera is turned ON
Allow desktop apps to access your camera is also ON
Scroll down and confirm Microsoft Edge is listed and allowed
Update permissions in Edge
In Edge, click the padlock icon in the address bar while on the StoryTagger page.
Make sure Camera is set to Allow
Then refresh the page and try again
Test your camera elsewhere
Visit https://webcammictest.com in Edge to check if your webcam works outside of StoryTagger.
Antivirus or security settings
If you're using antivirus software, it might be blocking webcam access. You may need to check its settings or temporarily disable any "webcam privacy" feature.
Other apps using the camera
Please make sure MS Teams and Zoom, or any other apps that are using the camera are turned off.
