StoryTagger's Pulse Check reports are primarily designed to surface insights and behavioural shifts from leadership development, culture and change programmes.
You're welcome to generate reports for other goals - just bear in mind some of the results might not align directly with your campaign.
Introduction
Pulse Checks give facilitators and programme leads a live window into how participants are thinking, feeling, and engaging - all powered by AI analysis of their reflective stories.
By surfacing emerging themes and how people are putting learning into practice, these scannable insights help you adapt delivery, respond to what’s resonating, and show impact in action. It’s a proactive way to keep momentum and learning on track - without the need for surveys or guesswork.
How it works
Each Pulse Check uses AI to analyse the transcripts from stories submitted to your campaign. The results are returned as a rich-text report you can copy or download into your own file templates.
We are constantly developing the AI Reports as we learn more about how our customers use them. Please let us know what you love (and don't love!) so we can provide you with the most useful tools.
How to Generate a Pulse Check
In your Campaign, select the Topic Tab. You'll see a new layout for Topic cards featuring the Pulse Check button.
When you tap the button StoryTagger will make sure it has the additional data required to run your report.
1. Stories - Pulse Checks can only be generated for Topics where stories have been submitted. While there's no minimum number of stories required, we suggest waiting until there's at least ten stories to get insightful results.
2. Campaign Goals - When building a Campaign, you'll spot new fields required by our AI tools. Campaign Goals allow you to outline your target objectives or goals which the AI tools will reference when creating your Pulse Check. For existing campaigns find the Campaign Goals field on the Settings tab.
3. About your organisation - To enable Pulse Checks to measure how effective your programmes are against wider organisational objectives tell StoryTagger a bit more about:
3.1. Your company strategy and goals
Enter the strategic pillars and goals which guide your business to help you measure performance.
3.2. Mission, values and behaviours
Enter the cultural values and behaviours, including their definitions, which guide your people to help you measure alignment.
Regenerating results
You can regenerate Pulse Checks at any time using the button at the bottom of your report.
Exporting Pulse Checks
In this first release of our new AI reporting feature, simply copy and paste reports into your Word or PowerPoint templates. We'd love to hear what export format would be the most useful for your team - do let us know and we'll share with our product team.
Privacy permissions
Pulse Checks require two settings to be activated in your Organisation panel:
1. AI Reports - This setting activates Pulse Checks on your Topics screen.
2. AWS USA - This is how we're currently generating story transcripts.
To use the Pulse Checks feature make sure both of these options are selected.
